Gerardo Álvarez
Senior consultant specialized in environmental management of coastal areas and marine protected areas, community development, environmental education, and conservation of threatened species. With over 15 years of experience at national and international levels, during which he has built a solid career path in a wide range of roles and responsibilities in various contexts and for various international organizations, NGOs, public agencies, and environmental consulting firms in countries such as Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica, Maldives, Cape Verde, and Indonesia.
Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences with a specialization in Environment and Marine Pollution from the University of Vigo, he completed a Postgraduate degree in Coastal and Marine Environmental Management at the University of Barcelona, and a diploma in NGO Management from the University of Louisville.
