Professional with twelve years of experience in the formulation and management of policies related to the competitiveness and sustainability of tourist destinations. She has held management positions in local governments, consulting firms and academia, with experience in Latin American, European and Middle Eastern markets. Currently, she is an International Consultant in the areas of Smart Governance, Data Management and Tourism Sustainability Measurement Systems; Member of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Corporation of Cartagena, Colombia; PhD Candidate in Social Sciences in Sustainable Development and Tourism Impacts at the Rovira y Virgili University of Spain and Director of Innovation and Business Development at Econotur, based in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland.
Teacher, researcher and consultant with certified experience in project management and evaluation, territorial strategic planning, development and promotion of tourism products and formulation of information systems and data management focused on competitiveness and sustainability. Master in Tourism Analysis and Innovation Techniques from the Rovira I Virgili University in Spain, being a scholarship holder of the Carolina Foundation (2013); Professional in Business Administration from the EAN University, Colombia (2009) and member of the High Impact Female Entrepreneurship programme of the same University until 2012. Previous work experience as Director of Econotur in United Arab Emirates (2017-2020); Research Director of the School of Tourism and Gastronomy at CAFAM University, Colombia (2014-2016) and, Research Intern at the Convention Bureau of the city of Tarragona, Spain (2013). She began her career in the tourism sector as Project Manager in consultancies related to the development of master plans, regulations, policies and monitoring plans for local governments in Colombia (2009 – 2012), period in which she joined the local administration of the city of Facatativá in Colombia, to serve as Director of Tourism (2011).
