Lorena López

Senior consultant specialising in project management related to tourism, environment and human development. She holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management from the Business Engineering School LA SALLE, Ramón Llull University (Barcelona), as well as a Degree in Contemporary History from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a Diploma in Tourism from the University Carlos III of Madrid. Participant in the International Programme of Specialisation in Tourism and International Cooperation for Development organised by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).

She has more than 15 years of multidisciplinary experience in different areas related to the strategic planning of tourism, the enhancement of historical and natural heritage, sustainable tourism development in protected areas, as well as strengthening work with local communities for the empowerment of productive processes linked to tourism.  She has worked on projects funded by different multilateral organisations such as the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Australian Aid, UNDP and Europe Aid. She has participated in the development and management of projects in Ghana, Spain, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay, Nepal, Maldives and Georgia.
