Óscar Blanco

Graduate in Geography and Specialist in Territorial Planning and Development from the University of Santiago de Compostela. He has completed his academic training with a Master’s Degree in Local Development at the IESIDE School of Public Administration, together with a European Master’s Degree in Tourism Management and Planning at the Universities of Girona and Santiago de Compostela. In addition, he is a Geographic Information Systems Technician from Autodesk and has completed the Higher Programme in Digital Marketing at ESIC Business & Marketing School.

He has more than 13 years of experience in projects aimed at the planning and sustainable development of destinations. He has held various positions within the third sector and consultancy, both linked to the executive coordination of projects and to his technical specialisation in strategic tourism planning, with special emphasis on territorial organisation, local development and sustainability. Among other projects, he has participated in the Sustainable Tourism Development Project for Western Mongolia, the Sustainable Tourism Development Plan for Tierra del Fuego (Chile) and the Master Plans for Territorial Planning of Priority Tourism Areas in La Libertad and Usulután (El Salvador). He has participated in several national and international projects in Europe, Latin America and Asia, financed by multilateral organisations such as the European Regional Development Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the United Nations Development Programme.
