PROVISION OF SERVICES FOR ELABORATION OF ADJARA PROTECTED AREAS SYSTEM SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY AND PLAN OF ACTION – GEORGIA

SUMMARY: This Project is part of the UNDP/GEF Project “Expansion and Improved Management Effectiveness of the Achara Region’s Protected Areas”, that seeks to enhance the management effectiveness, bio-geographical coverage and connectivity of Protected Areas of the Achara Autonomous Region of Georgia.
The outputs elaborated for this Project were the following bellow:
- An overall Achara PA system Sustainable Tourism Strategy and Action Plan.
- Individual Tourism Plans for Kintrishi, Mtirala and Machakhela Protected Areas.
- A Baseline Situation and Analysis Report of the existing tourism situation, providing relevant information of the existing tourism attractions and resources and analysing in detail the potential business opportunities for Ecotourism development, working together with private and public stakeholders through a series of meetings and workshops hold in Batumi and Tbilisi.
