Sylvia Jagerroos

Senior consultant with more than 15 years of experience in the field of conservation biology and environmental planning and management. She has implemented several transboundary projects as project manager or team leader and has gained valuable experience in community participation work and institutional capacity building, especially in developing countries. She has also assisted in drafting legislative frameworks and guidelines and has successfully carried out major Strategic Environmental Assessment projects. She has worked with international donors, governments and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Her years of experience in technical coastal baseline studies and biodiversity assessments, focusing on the assessment of sensitive coastal receptors around the world, have sharpened her understanding of global and recurring environmental problems.

She has in-depth knowledge of environmental study design and the latest technologies. She specialises in enhancing biodiversity resilience and preparing coastal areas and communities for climate change adaptation. She has worked on EIA/SEA in countries such as the Maldives, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Suriname, Kenya, Myanmar, Mozambique and Cambodia.
