Natalia González
Natalia González is an environmental consultant with international experience in climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable rural development. She holds a degree in Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and has a dual specialisation in project planning and conservation, supported by a Master’s in Protected Natural Areas (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and a Master’s in Rural Development Project Planning and Sustainable Natural Resource Management (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid).
Throughout her career, she has worked on the design, implementation and evaluation of climate and environmental policies in more than ten countries, focusing on key sectors such as biodiversity, agriculture, land use and forestry (LULUCF). She has contributed to the development of national adaptation plans, climate transparency reports (BTR), national communications, GHG inventories and climate action roadmaps in countries including Mexico, Tunisia, Guyana, El Salvador, Panama, Montenegro and Trinidad and Tobago. She has also supported the establishment and implementation of Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) frameworks in countries such as Senegal, Ivory Coast and Morocco, promoting robust and participatory systems for tracking climate action. Her experience further includes facilitating participatory consultations, strategic planning workshops and technical validation processes with local, national and international stakeholders.
Natalia also has hands-on experience in in situ conservation, having worked on biodiversity monitoring and environmental education in French Polynesia. Her approach is defined by an integrated perspective that connects climate action, sustainable development, and conservation, actively contributing to capacity building and informed decision-making in response to the challenges of climate change.
