DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE CITY OF FRAY BENTOS AND THE UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE “EXFRIGORÍFICO ANGLO” – URUGUAY

SUMMARY: To ensure proper management and planning, allowing the conservation and sustainable development of the Fray Bentos Industrial Landscape, HIDRIA developed a Strategic Plan. The Plan, prepared with a participatory method, contains the main action lines linked to tourism, heritage, education, etc., and the roadmap to develop them.
The work carried out was framed in the following aspects:
- Background analysis and territorial diagnosis.
- Definition of strategic objectives, intervention proposal and strategy.
- Preparation of 5 pre-projects and business plans of selected initiatives.
- Definition of a monitoring system, local community participation and communication strategy.
